2023 Festival

September 29th – October 8th 2023

Performance is living art

After a first edition dedicated entirely to Karlheinz Stockhausen, with concerts and educational events designed for all ages which took place in various places in the city of Milan, from the Giorgio Gaber Lyric Theater to the Fabbrica del Vapore, from Nocetum to San Carlo al Corso, the SPIRIT OF TIME festival | Teatri del Suono d’Oggi returns again this year with a new edition and with many new features.

This second season – which will take place between September 29th and 8 October 8th 2023 in Milan – the main focus will be on Downtown Music in New York, in its intriguing intersections between music, contemporary art, dance and happenings, with 4 main events, from John Cage to Morton Feldman, from Julius Eastman to Laurie Anderson.

The 2023 program aims to pay homage to the American avant-garde as inspiring for a new idea of performance, as a true and vital moment of artistic and human encounter.

For this reason the festival will have prestigious but unconventional venues, with their own cultural life and identity: the ADI Design Museum (with two events), BASE Milano and Santeria.
